Just a few days after the Japanese Grand Prix, Prima Pramac Yamaha MotoGP heads straight to Indonesia for the next round of the 2026 MotoGP World Championship. The team arrives at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit determined to leave the disappointing results of the recent races behind and immediately return to fighting for positions more in line with the potential of the riders, the team and the YZR-M1.

Mandalika joined the MotoGP calendar in 2022, following its international debut with the WorldSBK championship in 2021. The 4.3-kilometre circuit features 17 corners, with 11 right-handers and six left-handers, combining a long main straight with a technical and flowing sequence of corners. The characteristics of the track, together with the hot and often demanding conditions in Lombok, make tyre management, braking and traction key elements throughout the weekend.

The Indonesian Grand Prix also has a special meaning for both Prima Pramac Yamaha MotoGP riders. Toprak Razgatlıoğlu has particularly strong memories of Mandalika, having been crowned World Superbike Champion there in 2021 with Yamaha after finishing second in Race 1. Now, he returns to a circuit he knows well, but for the first time with a MotoGP bike, bringing with him the experience of his previous success and another opportunity to continue his adaptation to the YZR-M1.

Jack Miller also has positive memories of the first MotoGP race at Mandalika in 2022, when he finished fourth after fighting at the front in challenging conditions. The Australian enjoys the warm Indonesian environment and the characteristics of the circuit, and will be looking to use his experience of Mandalika to help the team find a stronger direction from the opening sessions. With both riders determined to react after a difficult Japanese Grand Prix, Prima Pramac Yamaha MotoGP will aim to make the most of the quick turnaround and start the Indonesian weekend on a more positive note.

We are coming from several races where we have not been able to bring home the results that I believe Yamaha, the team and the riders deserve after all the work everyone has put in. For different reasons, we have not been as competitive as we were around the middle of the season, so there is a strong desire to get back to that level.

I hope Indonesia can be a turning point for us and allow us to fight again for the positions where we know we should be. There is a great motivation within the team to show that we are capable of achieving better results, and the same is true for the riders.

As a team and together with Yamaha, we need to work even better over these final races of the season and demonstrate that the work we have put into this project is taking us in the right direction.

Obviously, the flyaway rounds come around quickly, so I’m looking forward to heading to Mandalika. It’s a track I really like, and I also enjoy the warmer conditions there. I’m looking forward to getting back to Indonesia and racing in front of the Indonesian fans.

I have very nice memories from Mandalika, especially from 2021 when I won my first World Superbike title with Yamaha. Now we are coming back to Mandalika again, but this time with a MotoGP bike.

I really like this track, although riding it with a MotoGP bike will be a different experience and requires a different riding style. We will see how it goes, but I will give my best. I’m really happy to be coming back to Mandalika.
