Prima Pramac Yamaha MotoGP heads to Brno aiming to build on recent progress
After the encouraging results achieved at Balaton, Prima Pramac Yamaha MotoGP arrives at the historic Brno circuit looking to continue its upward trend on one of the most iconic and technically complete tracks on the calendar.
Brno (Czech Republic), 17th June 2026
Just one week after its strongest weekend of the season so far, Prima Pramac Yamaha MotoGP heads to the Czech Republic for the Grand Prix of Brno, one of the most historic and popular venues in the World Championship. A regular fixture on the calendar for decades, the Czech circuit is widely appreciated by riders for its combination of fast corners, flowing sections, heavy braking zones and significant elevation changes.
Brno presents a particularly interesting challenge thanks to its mixed layout, which rewards both corner speed and precision through the technical sectors while also featuring several areas where acceleration and top speed remain crucial. The circuit was resurfaced ahead of its return to the MotoGP calendar in 2025, and the evolution of the new asphalt will be an important factor for all teams this weekend.
For Prima Pramac Yamaha MotoGP, the track offers an opportunity to continue building on the progress shown in recent races. The strengths of the Yamaha YZR-M1 in terms of chassis performance, agility and electronics could prove particularly effective through the more technical and flowing sections of the circuit, while the longer acceleration zones will once again represent a challenge.
The weekend will provide two different experiences inside the garage. Jack Miller arrives with extensive knowledge of the Brno circuit and several years of experience racing there, while for Toprak Razgatlıoğlu it will be a largely new challenge on a MotoGP bike. Both riders, however, travel to Brno encouraged by the steps forward made in recent rounds and determined to continue the positive momentum.
GINO BORSOI Team Director, Prima Pramac Yamaha MotoGP
Brno is a fantastic circuit and, in my opinion, one of the most beautiful tracks on the entire MotoGP calendar. It’s a layout that challenges every aspect of the package and always produces interesting racing.
Engine performance will remain an important factor here, particularly on some of the longer acceleration sections, but thanks to the progress we have made with the chassis and electronics we arrive in a much better position than we were at the beginning of the season.
The most encouraging aspect is that over the last few races we have consistently moved closer to the points and reduced the gap to the riders fighting around the top ten. That trend is more important than any single result.
Brno will be another useful benchmark to measure how much the package has improved compared to the start of the year. We know there is still work to do, but the direction Yamaha has taken is the right one and we are confident we can continue moving forward.
JACK MILLER Prima Pramac Yamaha MotoGP Rider
I’m looking forward to Brno. It’s a track where I’ve had success in the past and we had a really strong race there last year.
The last couple of weeks have been good. It was nice to have a short break after Balaton, focus on the physical training and get ready for this final push before the summer break.
The results over the last few races have been trending in the right direction and that’s been encouraging for all of us.
The goal now is simply to keep that progression going, continue improving and make the most of what should be another important weekend for us.
TOPRAK RAZGATLIOGLU Prima Pramac Yamaha MotoGP rider
Brno will be another important learning weekend for me. I raced here a long time ago, but this will be my first time at the circuit on a MotoGP bike, so it will feel almost like a new track.
Every circuit teaches me something new about the MotoGP bike and this weekend will be another opportunity to improve my understanding, especially in the fast corners and through the elevation changes that make Brno so unique.
The positive thing is that we have made good progress in the last few races and I feel more comfortable with the bike than I did earlier in the season. That gives me confidence going into another new challenge.
The target is to improve session by session, learn as much as possible and arrive on Sunday stronger than we are on Friday. If we can do that, the result will come naturally.
